Thermal cycling causes traditional polypropylene PCR plates to warp—literally. Up to 2mm of movement can push wells off-center, compromise seals, and lead to inconsistent results. On the other hand, two-component PCR plates anchor each well with a rigid polycarbonate frame that prevents expansion and ensures even thermal distribution. The result is stronger seals, more consistent data, and reduced edge effects.
